GP Appraisal Introduction

The contents of this website have been collated in response to requests by appraisers and apraisees who relate to Buckinghamshire PCT. Many of the resources are not originally ours but have been brought together from other sites. We apologise immediately for any missing acknowledgements and if you do see your work without your name on it please let us know and we will remedy the situation immediately. Many thanks go to the RCGP centre at the University of Bath.

Appraisal tools and good ideas are growing rapidly and the sharing of good practice seems to be an additionally benefit of the process. We hope to contribute to that process.

This website is starting out as one of information sharing in relation to tools, templates, courses and events. It will develop to be more responsive and local over time and user input. A number of questions still arise and the FAQ below will answer most of them. If you have additional questions please contract myself Marion Lynch GP Appraisal Lead via my PA on sharon.shepherd@buckinghamshire.nhs.uk.

Support for Reflection

BMJ Learning is an excellent resource that will help you record your CPD learning.  http://n3.learning.bmj.com/learning/home.html. Just attach to your plan and click on "Evaluate". You can then record what difference learning has made to your practice. In future this will be a key part of all appraisals.

You can do this on certificates of attendance, noting how the education session will change your practice.  You can also do this on Leicester templates, reflecting on future plans.
